We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our event, Humans vs Tech: Building connections in today’s hybrid world. It was wonderful to discuss such thought-provoking topics with you all!

On Thursday 6th October, we were joined by over 80 people at Loopin HQ for an incredible event to discuss the role of technology in today’s hybrid world.

As well as connecting with the Bristol tech community, learning something new, and getting to eat great pizza, our primary objective was to ensure our event was diverse and inclusive. An event that is true to our brand's mission, values, and ethos.

So, with great determination to create a welcoming environment where everyone could be themselves, here's how we did just that:

✨ An interactive session about accessibility and what to consider when building tech that's accessible

✨ Talks that covered neurodiversity, autism, and mental health

✨ A diverse lineup of speakers, each with different stories and perspectives to share

✨ Pronoun stickers if people wished to wear them

✨ A meditation session to unite everyone as one and to allow people to really detach from their busy days

✨ Speaker pronouns included on introductory slides

✨ Discussion panel that allowed the audience to participate and have their thoughts and voices heard

We’re super proud of the efforts we went to and the team were busy taking notes throughout to do even better next time.

We’d like to dish out a few thankyou’s… 👨‍🍳

To the team at Runway East, thanks so much for keeping everyone hydrated and helping with the set-up.

To the team at Oscar Tech, it’s been so great collaborating with you on this event! It was so much fun to finally meet in person and share a drink and slice of pizza.

To the team at Flour and Ash - thank you for such an incredible feast! Who knew shredded Brussels sprouts on pizza could taste so amazing?!

Thank you to MadeTech and ROAST for contributing to the goodie bags for all attendees. Evie, MadeTech’s Software Engineer also brought us the wonderful meditation session.

And of course, the biggest thank you to our wonderful line-up of speakers. Amy, Julie, Glyn, Antony, and Ben.

We are so proud to represent a brand that goes above and beyond to encourage people to bring their whole, true, authentic selves to work.

Shoutout to the entire team at Loopin, we're changing this space for the better.

We’ll leave you with one final piece of gold that is now pinned in the Loopin team’s Slack channel.

Event attendee and artist, Molly, shared these amazing sketch notes to social media. We loved this visual takeaway of everything Molly loved about Ben’s talk. Check out We Are Human to see even more awesome work from Molly.
